i'm sure it would work fine. in bf2 i have my sens on the choppa's jacked up in the options for the transports, so when i hop in an attack chopper i use the on the fly sens to tone it down since they're so twitchy.
i'd think the max would be the same deal, but opposite.
as for the gel on the wrist thing, just get a wrist pad independent of the mouse pad.

I have a Logitech MX518 that I upgraded to from a MS Intellimouse Optical. At first I hated the feel of the mouse, purely because I was used to the MS mouse for 5+ years. I forced myself to continue using the Logitech and have grown to love it. It is now one of the most comfortable, and responsive mice I have ever used.
The sensitivity adjustment doesn't get used a whole lot by me in game. I maybe use it a couple times when mossy sniping to stabilize things a bit more. Overall it is a very good mouse that I would recommend to any gamer.

mx518 ftw.
The only thing that I wish that logitech would've done to this beast was to put some sort of display on the mouse to show you what sensitivity lvl you are at 0-25%-50%-100%

If it's anything like the G5 the sensitivity helps auto running but for some reason, most likely my aim, more shots seemed bugged than withit at normal. I think it can be oversensitive? I could make 5, full 360 degree rotations over a short distance with the jacked sensitivity might've been too much for p-side to handle And Goffin, the sensivity display they put in their new gaming mice

Nice, tybo.
I personally went from an MX518 to a Copperhead (though I had the G5, MX510 and Razer Viper beforehand). It was a great mouse, but I just felt it was a bit too much for my hands, even though my hands are enormous.
Also, for the mousepad, you really don't need to get an expensive one. I bought the Razer mousepad a while back, and as good as it was, it wasn't much different than my $10 'gaming' mousepad from walmart.
So I gave it to a friend.

I have the G5 and love it, comes with the lil weights you can add or remove which is nice. For PS, the 6 on the fly adjustable sensitivities are awesome, especially if you have max or gun alot. You can set the 6 settings to any dpi you choose. 100-2000
