About 15 minutes, between the time I logged on TS and told Interpol I'd join him on Solsar, and the time I actually got in game, when it had just been resecured.
Snow itself is generated, not individually animated. There's just one snowflake, a bit of code to replicate it 175 times with different sizes, positions and opacities, give them rough sinusoid paths with random velocities.. and influence the y-coord. based on mouse offset. About 8 lines of code in total.
Jban wanted a Santa.. I already had one from an e-card I made back in high school, so I just pasted him in, and it was a done deal.

Now how about that Reaver(or flock of mossies/reavers) following santa? Couldn't you just get a couple images, duplicate them, and then animate them in a straight line behind Old Saint Nick? ------------- |

I sure could Tybo... I could also use volumetric smoke for the Reaver rockets, a lens flare for the snow blinding effect, a moving skybox, throw in some BFRs in there, a hotdropper taking him out, and who knows.. *maybe* even an AMS. Maybe.

But the image definitely needed a change. It had been there, almost static, for well over a year and a half now. I could certainly flash it up with something cooler in the future. I initially wanted full video up there but felt it was making the page too busy, people would just skip to the forums, etc. -------------

You know, speaking of vidoes, with all these 1CMM& friends, around, maybe it's time someone put together another one, it's been awhile.
Heck, Preach was supposed to make an epic Scat max vid awhile back, but it never materilized. :{
