oh,  if you get an account banned, don't try to bluff the devs by stating you'll kill yourself.

Yep, read both those earlier.

As for in-game assets converting to real-world capital - it's a very real business no matter how many lids you try to put on it. In the case of WoW, eBay/auction gold litteraly keeps a good portion of the hardcore players subscribed. Where they'd spend weeks grinding in order to afford certain items, they can now one-click-buy the funds to acquire them, and spend weeks using them to.. you guessed it, get better stuff.

It certainly inflates the existing in-game economy, something that destroyed games like SWG. Blizzard, however, was very wise in regulating it by creating several money sinks; the most prolific being the obvious inability to resell Soulbound/high level items, and having to vendor it for a fraction of its value.

In terms of cost-benefit ratios, farming for that currency or those items is easily 10x as time-consuming as it is to work a real job, earn those fifty or so dollars and cash them online.

The danger isn't in the actual purchase, but in the valuation of that purchase. When does buying game land, items or gear become more important than financial security for your family? At what point do virtual assets now take priority over true assets? Some claim there's no difference - time is time, and money is money.

Can you put a price tag on a sequence of bits, in some array of some cell in some row of some table of some database in some catalog of some suite on some server on some rack in some basement in some country? V-V-D...

in EVE there is a legal way to "buy" ingame ISK

you can go onto websites and such and just buy the ISK using paypal or whatever, and somebody logs on and sends it to your account but you can be banned for that.. what IS legal though is buying 30 60 or 90 day gamecards and selling them on the forums for ingame money, it also gives a much better exchange rate

i think 100 million ISK is around $8-$10 if you buy the cash straight up from a website
but if you buy a 30 day gamecard (which costs $13) you can get 200-300mil for it ingame

personally im very impatient and if possible id have payed some chinese guy to get me BR25 and CR5 then taken over the reigns

i hate leveling in most games or having to PvE like a madwhore to get an item so if there is an easier affordable option id take it

i have no pride in "i did this myself" or "i got this myself" aslong as i have it im happy :)

I would prolly pay somebody to help me on the long bitch ass road to cr5. Other than that Im with Fayaz. I guess if you have  the time and money to put into a game. In the sense that its a priority to you to have some kind of uber weapon in WOW. Than I guess you should prolly rethink your life a little bit.

You missed your window; I uninstalled Planetside and unsubed.  I was getting way too frustrated when playing, and the last few days when I did log in, the fight was all on one continent or non-existent at all.  Now, I have no problem bailing on towers, but when the fight is NC Orenge Alert Tower vs Only-Base-TR-Have-Gunuku... I can only take but so much before the lone guy sitting in his Scat max on the twr roof starts to infuriate me.

Ya know?  I'll be back when they start the tournament up again, but until that, there's no point in playing with exams coming up and my other obligations.

There's no problem with playing TR; what I typed doesn't describe a factional problem, but a game play one.
