Windows Vista won't be released for a few months yet (necessary to have DirectX 10 features enabled), but if you're looking to upgrade, this is a good alternative.

Also, the current 7900 series should see some huge price drops, so it'll make for some good bargain shopping.

I personally am sticking with getting an ATI x1950XTX, as the features and pricing are good for me. Most likely, I'll wait for the 8900GTX series when more DirectX 10 compatibile games are released (Crysis comes to mind).

Just wanted to give you faggots a heads up.

I think it's a little too early to worry about dx10 cards..    lol you better have a powerhouse of a pc if you're thinking about buying vista.

at least a 3.2 mhz processor with at least 2 gig of ram..

I have it running on a machine at work.   it's 2.0 mhz with 2 gig of sh*t ram and the cpu idles at 98% usage with nothing running lol.  It's mostly eye candy with a cool encrypting feature which allows you the ability to boot your pc using a pen drive.   only problem is,  you lose the pen drive,  no booty booty for you anytime soon.

Yeah, but if you actually read the link, you'd see that the cards are powerful with or without DirectX 10. To the point where the top of the line 8800GTX makes the current 7900GTX completely obsolete.

Bitch.

really seems like nvidia didn't like that little inversion a few cycles back where ati was on top. they've come back with a bootstompin vengeance.
