Service Pack 2

Check Windows Firewall exceptions..  Launchpad and it looks like _aunchpad need to be checked, if the firewall is enabled on the general tab.  If not, then you have a different problem.

No, in the exceptions list, click Add Program and point it to that file.

DXsetup is wrong, remove it.

The target path of the FODDER excutable should be this

"C:\Program Files\Sony\Station\LaunchPad\LaunchPad.exe" /game:planetside /batch:2007908 /plan:426

If you right click on the planetside icon ( the one you start the game with) once and go to properties, you'll see the "target path or start in" in the bottow of the window.  If your buddies "start in" icon doesn't have this above path,  copy this in entirely and see what happens.

I'm not saying this is the fix,  this is just my 2 cents

Actually if its the same problem I had once, try opening Internet explore, close it then try the launchpad. if your default brower is firefox or something, it may have turn of access to IE which is what the launch pad uses to access the intraweb. willing to bet dross's beany baby collection on it.
