Well obviously it was infected considering you hit a packet a puss!  I suggest you squeeze out all the puss until  blood starts flowing heavily! You also saved a trip to the hosiptal because they would've done the same procedure!  You need to cut around the nail that is growing down into your skin! You might have to get some tweasers and actually lift it up and cut it out! Painfull none the less! I also suggest picking up some bacterial ointment and putting it on the affect area!  Moist hot areas is great place for bacteria to grow!

Dude, go see a doctor. Ingrowns are very painful and if not treated quickly, can lead to some serious sh*t. Ingrowns happen for a variety for reasons (poor hygiene, no trimming, for one), but in your case, an accident which may damaged the nail and tissue.

Depending on how bad it is, you might need a little surgery. Your doctor will first numb your toe by using an anesthetic. Then he'll cut your toenail along the edge that is growing into the skin and pull out the piece of nail. Finally, he may apply a small electrical charge or a liquid solution to the exposed part of the nail bed. This keeps the toenail from growing into the skin again.

Whatever you do, don't try to do it yourself if it's extremely painful, because if it is, then it's already serious.

On another note, it's a good idea to wear socks or slippers around the house. If you're used to walking barefoot, well, it may be a bit odd at first, but you won't regret it:

Covering your feet increases your body temperature by about 4 degrees F. by default, hence your body doesn't need to produce as much heat to stay at the same temperature and can use those BTUs for other stuff.

Less chances of hurting yourself and stuff, can't remember the last time I stubbed my toe on something.

Less chances of getting dirt and crap (but you might find the occasional bit of lint) in your toenails.

Looks damn cool if you get the right mac-daddy slippers man, as soon as I get home I take off my shoes, put on the slippers, daaaammn!!

I was eating while reading this and looking at the pics... and i didn't find it too pleasing.. so i'm going to stop now and go do something else while i eat.

and then while walking around the house barefoot i stubbed my toe and it fully snapped off (the nail not the toe)

so as the nail has been growing back.. its gone.. kinda wrong

the right side of the nail has been growing down.. and in the process cutting my toe



the toe is really sore

so i got some scissors and pushed back the side skin and dug right down to the bottom.. which was to say the least inredibly painfull



i did it to see if i could sorta lever it out and cut it.. but what actually happend was..



i hit a little pocket of puss and also the nail is way to thick to cut it easily

if i try lever it out any more than i have to be able to cut it this will happen





what should i do?  :(

J/k, similar thing happened to me where my toenail was just coming completely off. ScubaSam (know him irl) always told me that it walked to him..
