Now, don't get me wrong. i love PC.
but, lately i can't fucking stand gaming on them. too many hacks. And the threat of hacks causes anything that could be skill to become moot. and its literally impossible to find a game that doesn't have hackers ruining the game for others. heres an example http://ace-spades.com/ This game has JUST BEEN released to public. its in EARLY beta. and already, he is having to deal with cheat detection. "LATEST NEWS: 4/13 22:50 EST BETA 0.26 is out! This is a mandatory upgrade for servers and clients. It features anti-cheat measures, votekicking, and better connection error handling." i don't even know what to say about that. there is no logical reason to hack a game in this stage, other then to ruin any kind of fun that could be had on a game start up. Hacking killed APB, granted it had its fair share of problems anyway, but the hacks pushed it over the edge. i would hate to see what happened to APB happen to other games, but i fear its going to keep happening, and its going to get worse as time goes on. PS3 is now full of hacks too, thanks to the OS being cracked. hopefully with the new generation of consoles coming out this or next year, they will have adequate security measures to last another 5. but i'm starting to doubt there will be any safe havens left for people who actually want to play a fair game. /rant over |

I agree hacking has been growing out of control, but there is hacking for consoles it is just not as common because it is harder to do at the moment but eventually it will be easier to do as consoles grow more and more likes PCs.Most likely I will pick up Battlefield 3 for the XBOX 360 as much as I hate to but rather then deal with hackers on the PC.
Also True Windows 7 games are supposed to eliminate hacking a lot more because of the software modification detection and reporting. ------------- |
