Steam has dead space for $6.80.  Downloaded it,  played it for an hour and uninstalled it.   I hate 3rd person games especally when 70% of the screen is taken up by the player. and the mouse feel was f'n terrible.  Felt like I was using a thumb trackball that verdant still uses :)

I got it off direct 2 drive for 9.99.
 
Its real similar to Doom story.
 
The graphics are top notch with a lot of dripping and splatter effects and I like how there really isn't cut scenes but just smooth moments of watching instead of playing. Like the one part where you walk in and the women doctor is just cutting away on a guy and laughing then she cuts her own throat was freaking great.
 
I don't mind the 3rd person veiw, I like how you have to aim at specific parts to bring down the creatures and enjoy equipment up grades.
 
The mouse controls at first I thought the same thing like even on the menu's I was like why can't I get the mouse to freaking..New Game. I think this has to do with fact of it being more of a console game instead of PC. After a while I got use to playing it and I am enjoying it...I am hooked.
 
Goffin try playing it with a game pad instead of mouse before you toss it aside.

I liked the no hud display.  pretty much needed with the 3rd person going on.

Yeah I like that too but you have to get use to looking at your back to see how much health and staisis you have and looking at your gun to see how much ammo you got left or just make sure your filled on ammo after the fight.

Game pad in my eyes would be a controller but I see your point.   I've been using a nostromo which is basically a mini keyboard but it's not for a mouse.

I had to stop playing last night as it got really intense. Running around with something chasing you like the whole time and shit just kept jumping out at you and then there was no air for a bit and after I got through it with a few deaths I was like...okay I got to stop and play some NHL to settle down before bed...lol.

that trackball is getting hard to find these days, they only last me a year and then left click starts to stop working.

and i cant really find any other thumb trackballs either, only finger ones, i bought one but the index finger sucks to aim with.

Ultimately, if it was possible, id get a thumb trackball where the ball was bigger, and more buttons.

Edit: also, Bulletstorm demo on xbox bitches! downloading now... hopefully it will be fun
