Gaming Mice - Go:

I have a RAT 7 and the sensor is starting to bug the shit out of me. What are you guys using?

I'm looking at getting 2 new mice to replace the one at work and home.

logitech m705

haven't done a ton of gaming with is, but its scroll wheel makes it the bomb for surfing the web. yep, it's wireless, but it's been running on the same two AA batteries since i bought it last november and it's reporting 897 days remaining (85%).

Logitech G9X Laser

I love the chunky grips made for guys like me with big hands, and while the weight system seems like a gimmick, I can tell the difference with it.

man, i though this was another spammer for a second.

Logitech trackman wheel.

its old and outdated, with only 2 buttons and a scroll wheel... but its pretty much the only THUMB trackball that's wired anymore.

And i hate wireless things.

I checked that out. They are supposed to last like 3 years on the same batteries. It's too small for me. Laptop style mice kill me. I have a Performance MX for my laptop. I love it. Lasts for months on the same charge if you turn it off when not in use.

I hear some people love trackballs, but i suck at them. I have a couple clients that use them, and omg they drive me nuts when i have to do work on their systems.

Now we're talking. I looked at these. Not bad, but kind of meh to me. I picked up a G500. I used to use a G7, and loved it, but it was a pain with the rechargeable batteries. I want to go wired for my desktop. So far I really like it. It's not quite as heavy as my Rat, but when I stop, the cursor stops. It used to wiggle on the Rat.

I was really interested to see if anyone was using Mionix, ROCCAT, or some of the newer Razer's. I've heard lots of good stuff about each, but don't know anyone who has one. The reviews all sound "generated".

Sluggo-

The G9X is a wired mouse, fyi. I've had it for a year or two, so it's probably nice and inexpensive to try out now.

speaking of Mionix...

I have the Zibal 60 en route in shipping to my house right now. i started using mechanical keyboards after the shitty rubber mat ones kept breaking in like 3 months each. (not sure how i manage that)

I don't think i could ever stray away from a mechanical keyboard ever again, they just feel so much nicer to type/play with. the price might seam steep, but mechanical keyboards are good for like 10 years on average! so, when i saw a mechanical keyboard with GREEN BACK-LIT KEYS, you know i couldn't resist getting one.

heck, i might even get two, since the different keyboard layouts sold in different country's are good for different games.

Seems I've been going back and forth between logitech and razor over the years.   I believe the last logitech mouse I had was a g5 and now I have a razor imperator.   Razor has some silly mice out there but the imperator is basic.  It has the standard buttons,  fits good with my caveman mits and the response is great as any mice are these days.    I think what really sold me was the side buttons.  Logitech's felt squishy, rubbery, you could push them in but the razor's (at least this model) are firm, give you a little click feeling which I love.   And the true reason I got it aside from the buttons is it was on sale  lol.    I think they wanted 70 bucks originally but saw somebody had it listed for 50...  50 is the highest i'll pay for a mouse :)

Verdant,  I'm sold on that keyboard for the built in usb/audio alone... lol.. but I doubt the feel of it would be any different than the rest.    Maybe fid  can back me up on this one but no keyboard can compare to the "buckling springs" models which IBM had back in the day in regards to comfort, feel and clickyness.   I still have one unboxed and on standby that i've found over the years lol.   Gaming on these however might not be the best since you litterally have to push down on the button to get a response but it seems there's still a big demand for them and I still use one myself.

and I just found this as I was seeing if anybody really made an attempt to bring them back.

and they make a green one verdant  lol

those old ibm keyboards were like an offroad vehicle with their enormous springy suspension travel, and they'd drive your pets/woman insane because the keys were as loud as dog clickers but hey, if that's what you're in to ...
